Great review thank you. I'm also interested in purchasing a projector to make delivery of my lectures easier. It seems from your videos that the projector has to be placed on a desk quite far back from the screen/wall in order to project a large image that would be visible from the back of the classroom. How far back would it have to be to project an image of say 1.5 m on the diagonal?

One other point to note is that if you are ordering any of the projectors from the units, need to check whether you can get a replacement power adaptor in SG. For Acer K11, it's using the same power adaptor as Acer notebooks, ie. easily available in SG.

and the lack of videos from users showing either movie, animation or RGB tests seems to suggest that at this moment, either the projectors are too new or is not worth buying.

Focus feature is important unless the projector has an auto-focus mode.

As for the warranty, it depends on where you are. If you are from the US, then the warranty make sense. If you are from SG, it's troublesome.

Blackboard means they adjust color when projected on to a wall which is not white. They also have closed captioning which is nice. Does either one look better to you? I would have liked the K11, but I show most presentations that are not movies with more light. I was wondering how important the iris feature is. I am in one classroom, so moving it a lot will not be much of an issue.

3. Acer's speaker at 1W is for Mickey mouse to hear, not for humans.

4. In terms of lamp life, Acer K11 is way better.

5. I was told that if we are carrying around the projector a lot, traditional projectors (those above 2000 lumens, possibly including your 2) may break the projector - am not sure is it because of the lamp or what, but you may need to do more checking first.

Infocus IN102 looks very interesting to me. Too bad that I didn't have a chance to check that out before buying Acer K11 as it could be better - not sure.

Infocus and Viewsonic seem to be the closest in value. I am the anonymous one from before, but I am LKS.

They are in the same price range, and I like the fact that each has the blackboard feature, which took ACER out of the running (although they lack USB ports.) The Acer also lacked speakers (X111).

Yes, I've tried that.

For 81" projection, within the "[2A] Acer K11...", the video starts with a pitch dark room, and at 4:20 is where the lights in the middle and back is on. Check it out.

However, for 100" and above, lights in the backrow is not good.
