Nano Wand from "Amega Global"

In my line of work, I am blessed with the fortune of being able to analyze numerous inventions  and patents from software technology to financial technology to 'wellness' technology to scams.

Maintaining an open mind and optimistic spirit are essential to being creative and productive. I hope that fellow Asians who are conducting their own due diligence into Amega Global and their products would benefit from this humble review.

1.0 Background

A few days ago, I got to know an interesting person who claimed that he is a lecturer from a Singapore Polytechnic. Upon knowing that I am lecturing in a Singapore University and is very much into Science and Technology, he shared with me a novel product: "Nano Wand" [1] (Figure 1) from Amega Global [2].

2.0 About Nano Wand

There exist a detailed write-up about "Nano Wand" [1] by an Indonesian Amega Salesrep. An excerpt of the document is as follows:

What is Nano Wand?
The Nano Wand is a natural energy generating device. The energy created specifically rejuvenates molecular structures in all liquids. The molecular structure causes any liquid to become more hydratious, taste better and extend shelf life. Placed in a fridge, the Nano Wand’s energy frequency permeates the fridge; all liquids, meat and fruit will taste better and have extended shelf life. The renewed molecular chains are similar to those found in healthy natural spring water.
:
:

What is Nano Wand made of?
Technically engineered natural minerals are fused and structurally bonded together at a molecular level, using several high heat fusion methods. The combination of the minerals and the fusion techniques produces a catalytic conversion of energy, developing a long lasting natural resonance which has the ability to be transferred to any liquid, renewing the natural molecular chains.
:
:

How does Nano Wand work?
The ‘beta’ rhythm frequency spins at an anti clockwise direction, and like other ‘energy waves’, it can ‘influence’ inert objects.
:
:

What kind of minerals are in the Nano Wand? How many of them?
The body of the Nano Wand houses 11 minerals locked into it by high heat fusion techniques and is technically engineered. Each mineral grain has its own individual shape and size that when combined with the other minerals, through a catalytic conversion, generates the spinning resonance we call chi energy.
:
:

How does the energy transfer to the water using the Nano Wand?
The Nano Wand energy spins into the liquid, counter clockwise, or the liquid can be poured over the Nano Wand where it ‘picks up’ the resonance.
:
:

Is there any expiry date? What would be the effect after the expiry date?
We expect the Nano Wand’s energy to last 30 years as recent tests on the original pre-production test units made five years ago show that they have increased in energy levels. Unlike a magnet, the resonance is not affected by the earth’s gravitational pull.
:
:

What are the benefits of Nano Wand?
Molecular structures in liquids allow the taste buds to recognise only the taste we enjoy.
:
:

There is at least one video in Youtube where we can see Nano Wand in action (Video 1). After watching this amatuer video, I was left with more questions than answers. The video was created by an Amega salerep based in the beautiful country of Philippines.

4.0 Conclusion

This is a novel product and I want to believe. Amega salesreps who are planning to invite me to their office for a discussion, I thank you in advance but would like to defer the visit until my list of questions are answered (pls help me to help you):
  • Q1. What are the names of the inventors for "Nano Wand"?
  • Q2. Within the field of Nanotechnology, there are over 9000 US patents that are granted [10] and applied [11]. Is Nano Wand patented? If yes, what is the Patent Publication Number? If no, are you infringing on any of the US and non-US patents [16]?
  • Q3. Is there any "Nano Wand" scientific publication? If yes, please let us know the citation information?
  • Q4. Based on my limited knowledge in the field of nanotechnology [4, 5, 6, 7, 8], please let me know more specifically the sub-technologies within the very broad field of nanotechnology that are relevant to Nano Wand - eg. Bucky balls? Fullerene? Nanotubes? Quantum dots? Intelligent Agents?
  • Q5. While the "Nano Wand" document [1] is informative, there seems to be more fiction that science - I would strongly encourage this salesrep to include more references in his document, rather than just speculative and very fanciful/wishful claims.
  • Q5a. For instance, the Nano Wand document [1] speculated about the ability of the 'Nano Wand' to re-energised liquid - that's pseudoscience [13].
  • Q6. Assuming that the Amega users testimonial are real, could the users be experiencing a Placebo effect? [14]
  • Q7. The Amega Global "Nano Wand" product seems to resemble the Amezcua "Bio Disc" [15]. I can't help but noticed the similarities between Amega and Amezcua. Hmmm..
  • Q8. Within Video 1, the boy was playing with the 'Nano Wand' for almost 2 minutes. Can someone tell me what was that for?
  • Q9. In view that "Nano Wand" is such a wonderful product, may I invite Arun to submit his product to SPRING Singapore [9] or any relevant authority [10] for testing. Once done,  pls share with us the pdf of the test report(s). Am very certain that if the test reports are positive, you can expect a huge jump in terms of your "Nano Wand" sales - when that happens, you don't need to share the commissions with me, as I prefer to dedicate the merits, positive effects and commercial profits to all sentient beings instead.
May all beings be well and happy.

  2. There is a relevant section in this Straits Times article on 15 Oct 2009, titled "Most animal-cell therapies of questionable value" By Grace Chua.

It goes like this, "A trawl through PubMed and other scientific databases turned up no clinical trials, while the websites advertising such treatments were long on testimonials but short on scientific evidence."

In the case of Nano Wand, we have a similar situation, ie. long on testimonials but short on scientific evidence.

  3. Three months have past and while we are still waiting for some objective answers to the 9 questions, more "Amega Global" Youtube videos have surfaced.

    1. "Amega Global Magnetic Bracelet - Amega Global Review Testimonial" [1], where a paralyzed elderly who was not able to walk for the past 11 years seemingly miraculously begin to walk after wearing the bracelet.

    2. "Amega Products Information - Stroke Victim Walks Again" [2], where another elderly who had stroke was able to seemingly miraculously walk without support.

    Isn't that seemingly amazing?

Unfortunately, I do not know these two elderly and once again, I opt to place my trust in peer-reviewed science.

I would recommend this Youtube salesrep Amega Global "healthyandwealth" to submit the product for formal testing. Am sure many university researchers would line up to conduct double-blinded trials [1] and subsequently publish numerous good peer-reviewed journal paper on the products.

  4. I suggest you get one of the wands for yourself and try it. ....Formal reviews cannot explain the kind of miraculous results individuals continue to see. ..I have one and still find it hard to believe just how effective it can be on pain.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Not sure what is your definition of 'formal review'.

Instead, what I am advocating is a 'peer review' and/or double-blind test on the product.

Can a peer review and/or double-blind test explain the miraculous/illusional results individuals experienced? Yes, it can. To understand why, check out these two references:

  6. Why do you feel that anyone should feel obligated to allow an unknown such as yourself access to delicate and potentially valuable information about these wands?

  7. These wands are not hard to acquire. ...Why don't you buy one and do the testing you want done?

  8. Thanks so much for your work. I'm interested in knowing whether you have had any luck in discovering your answers...thanks

  9. Hi Systemthinker,

Other than the sales pitch trying to convince (trick) me into buying one and see how it works, no constructive feedback so far.

We are interested to hear from non-Amega saleperson who brought the product and wants to tell the world the truth.

  10. It's low level radiation plain and simple. Gamma anlysis confirms uranium and thorium daughters. Could have some health benefits. I have lower back pain and hip pain. Both seemed to have substantially reduced in pain after placing nano wand on area for a number of hours.

I want to believe and I prefer Science over sales claims.

  12. I have to agree with the original poster. There are no real scientific justification for their product. Just a lot of fancy jargon that has no actual meaning. Much of what they use to describe thier technology comes directly out of science fiction TV or a misuse of scientific topics, and not real science. Obviously they are trying to take money from people who never watched Stargate, Star Trek, or Star Wars for that matter, and never took a chemistry of physics class in their life.
As far as the claim that the benefits come from low level radiation, and that the wand is made up of daughter elements. This makes me laugh, very much. No amount of radiation is "good" for you. Depending on the type of radiation you are exposed to, they type of cellular damage you will receive. Most commonly found are Alpha, Beta, and gamma. Alpha are slow dense particles that are easilly blocked or absorbed by materials like thin paper. Exposure over time alpha particles could cause damage to skin cells but cannot penetrate skin. Alpha particles can be inhaled into the lungs, via Radon gas, etc., and will basically bounce around damaging cells on each impact and eventually lead to cancer. Comparatively a breath of alpha particles is 4-10x more damaging than a breath of cigarette smoke. Beta particles are high energy and also a dense particle. Beta particles are typically the result of nuclear fission and can imbed themselves into a few milimeters of aluminum or into your body. Once embedded they cause ioniztion of the mnatter surrounding the particle, which then emits other radioactive energies, and thus causing severe damage to the tissues over time. Beta is used theraputically to destroy cancer under proper application and scientific calculation. Gamma is what is found in xray and is a byproduct of the decay of the other forms radiograohic particles or certain elctro-reactive events. Gamma is not good for you either, it passes through all matter leaving tiny pin holes as it passes through. Dense materials like lead dampen gamma exposure, but do not completely stop it. Think of gamma as death by a billion pin pricks. All radioactive exposure is cummulative over your life time and will lead to bad things. If the wand truly emits any radioactivity, like the old glow in the dark watches, then it should be avoided. I got a laugh when the person stated the wand was confirmed to contain daughters of Uranium and Thorium. Why? Thorium is a daughter of Uranium and the daughter of Thorium is Lead. Since it takes about half a million years for this type of nuclear decay to occur it is easilly pressumed that the wand is a chrome plated sick of lead. Which by the way, lead is not good for you either, remeber the paint chips!?

  13. Thanks for the scientific info, very informative indeeed.

  14. Have you followed-up on this yet? It really concerns me... especially their owned Amized Fusion Technology (AFT) they used to boost their products. AFT is said to relate to zero point energy (ZPE) and resonance technology. Some mentioned technologies for some Amega products shown are infrared, negative ions generated by tourmaline and other known health stones like germanium with said beneficial effect. Maybe these could be benefiting the product? But I could find products with these at a cheaper price.

AFT doesn't explain much since it is something they've been telling what it does rather what it actually is. It is said that this is what should set it apart from others making them unique.

Their network marketing and strategy is no doubt one of the strongest out there in the MLM business, but the product information just raises most people's concern. Since this is helping people, they should at least find a way to make it more affordable and accessible. If they release and share the need information maybe the technology and products can be improved and supported like all other technologies to date.

I thank the original poster for supporting this raised concern. It is hard to find the right people that will be willing to help out at situations like this. A very informative research. With your professional background, many are indeed assured with the possible outcome.
